Puffin Models Limited
Puffin Models Limited is a small family owned company specialising in high quality specialist components that may be used by customers to complete operational models of their own design or manufacture. Puffin Models does not supply complete operating models. Items showing as in stock on our website will normally be held in stock for immediate shipping. Our contract of sale occurs when goods are collected by the customer, or have been delivered to the customer. Puffin Models reserve the right to refuse to supply any item (whether in stock or not) without giving further explanation.
We are very experienced in sending all items including the largest kits by mail order, and as a result of the care that we take, we almost never experience damage during transit. Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible after receiving it. If there is any problem with any order please contact us at the earliest opportunity and we will resolve the matter as soon as reasonably possible. If there is damage to any item please hold the item and packaging exactly as delivered as evidence for us making a claim against the carrier.
Refunds under the Distance Selling Regulations
In the unlikely event that you do not wish to keep what you receive, under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, you are allowed to return any item or items up to 7 days from the day after the day the goods are received for a full refund. For goods to be returned under the Distance Selling Regulations, you must ensure that you take reasonable care of the goods supplied, and return them to Puffin Models at your own expense. Puffin Models will never send a substitute item without first receiving your consent. Please return items with the original packaging, but please do not try to re-package any items.
Items that have not been damaged, and are returned under a manufacturers warranty against manufacturing defect, must be marked WARRANTY CLAIM, and accompanied by the receipt or other proof of purchase. Items returned for warranty claim MUST not have been disassembled, and remain unmodified to allow a thorough investigation, either by the manufacturer, or by ourselves for the manufacturer. Items not marked warranty claim will be dealt with as a repair or replacement on repayment, and will not pass through manufacturers warranty procedures. Any item replaced under warranty carries the balance of the original warranty, and does not re-start the warranty clock. Warranty claims for items bought from another dealer should be referred to your chosen dealer.
Jeti Products carry a 24 month warranty against manufacturing defects only. We strongly suggest that speed controllers have polarised connectors to prevent reverse connection. Jeti have extremely robust quality control procedures in place, and we rarely receive warranty claims.
MVVS products carry a 24 month warranty against manufacturing defects only. All parts are available for both MVVS petrol engines and electric motors. MVVS products are produced to the very highest standards, and we rarely receive warranty claims.
Mega motors have proved themselves under the harshest of competition use, and are extremely durable. Mega provide a motor repair service. Please deal with Mega directly for this service.
Items bought through another dealer (either in UK or overseas)
For items bought through another dealer, please contact your chosen dealer, and this includes requests for English instructions or Puffin produced instructions for items bought through overseas dealers.
Prices and Description Changes
Because of materials costs, changing prices from manufacturers, and rapid fluctuations in exchange rate, along with intense competition in the UK market, prices are changed frequently, and the price charged will be the price showing on the Puffin Models web site at the time that an on-line or telephone order is accepted. Prices showing on search engine cached pages are out of the control of Puffin Models, and will not be accepted. Because of regular product updates, and normal stock rotation, the item you receive may not be the version currently in production, or may be an upgraded version of the item you expect to receive.
Returning items to Puffin Models
Items returned to Puffin Models must include your name, address, telephone number, contact times, receipt or date of purchase, stamped instructions or box, and payment details for service and return postage. Please also include a brief note giving reasons for the return including symptoms, and please state whether the return is for a warranty claim, repair, or service replacement. The signature for the return of items returned by Recorded Delivery can be seen at www.royalmail.com. Please de-solder non-standard connectors, we cannot be responsible for non-standard connectors or other items including propellers returned with motors or speed controllers. We ask that you do not cut connectors off speed controllers, we almost always return the same speed controller back after thorough testing to the limit of the controller. Warranty exchange and service exchange items will be on a like for like basis. We regret that we have no system for handling used model equipment, and suggest that unwanted model equipment should be sold locally, sold through classified ads, or auctioned.
