Puffin Models Limited Returns and Warranties Policy
Receiving goods
We are very experienced in sending all items including the largest kits by mail order, and as a result of the care that we take we almost never experience damage during transit. Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible after receiving it. If there is any problem with any order please contact us at the earliest opportunity and we will resolve the matter as soon as reasonably possible. Please note that motor and controller orders will normally be received during the morning following the order being placed, and kits will normally be received within 2 working days of the order being placed.
Refunds
In the unlikely event that you do not wish to keep what you receive, please return the goods packed exactly as they were received and we will provide an immediate refund or credit to your card. Goods returned for refund must be unused, unmodified, and returned in the same condition that they arrived within 7 days of purchase. We regret we are unable to arrange collection of goods for return.
Speed Controllers
Jeti brushless speed controllers and Speed Max brushed motor controllers sold by Puffin will be replaced by Puffin if returned within 60 days of the original purchase date. Unfortunately we are only able to replace controllers that have been reverse connected under our service replacement scheme. After 60 days we will be happy to replace a Jeti brushless speed controller or Speed Max brushed motor controller sold by Puffin at a price lower than our current retail price. Service replacements will carry a warranty against manufacturing defects for 60 days or the balance of the original warranty whichever is the longer.
Motors
We are happy to repair or replace Model Motors, Jeti Phasor, Mega, and HET-RC Typhoon motors sold by Puffin at a price less than our current retail price. Repairs or service replacements will carry a warranty against manufacturing defects for 60 days or the balance of the original warranty (if applicable) whichever is the longer.
Kontronik
Kontronik items for service or warranty should be returned to Kontronik who have a list of prices for service and repair that is shown in the current Kontronik catalogue. Items beyond economic repair are currently replaced by Kontronik at 65% of Kontronik SRP (2004), and they will be happy to advise on any revisions to their policies.
Warranties
Manufacturers may offer warranties against manufacturing defects ONLY, and warranty claims for Jeti, Model Motors, and Mega motors and controllers sold by Puffin will normally be handled by Puffin Models. Failures other than those caused by manufacturing defects cannot be considered as warranty claims.
General
For items bought through another dealer, please contact your chosen dealer. Items returned to Puffin Models must include your name, address, telephone number, contact times, receipt or date of purchase, stamped instructions or box, and payment details for service and return postage. Please also include a brief note giving reasons for the return including symptoms, and please state whether the return is for a warranty claim, repair, or service replacement. Items returned by Recorded Delivery can be tracked at www.royalmail.com Please de-solder non-standard connectors, we cannot be responsible for non-standard connectors or other items including propellers returned with motors or speed controllers. We ask that you do not cut connectors off speed controllers, you could receive the same speed controller back after testing and re-setting. Warranty exchange and service exchange items will be on a like for like basis. We suggest that unwanted model equipment should be sold locally, sold through classified ads, or auctioned.
